Bolton International Film Festival is a Creative England CE50, BIFA and BAFTA-Qualifying short film festival based in the North West of England. It is also a BAFTA qualifying Animation Festival.

 

Established in 2017 the festival is now preparing for its 2025 edition which will take a hybrid format. Screening approximately 300 short films across a five day physical festival (and a ten day online version) the 2025 edition will host around 20 industry talks and masterclasses plus networking sessions.

 

Whether it’s fiction, documentary, animation, comedy or experimental film the festival aim is to amplify films and filmmakers to an audience of the general public, students, like-minded filmmakers and industry representatives.
